A mobile home is considered to be a type of home or dwelling that is built within a factory where it is put upon a steel chassis and fitted with wheels so that the mobile home can hauled or transported to a permanent home site. A mobile home is a portable home that is designed for living in one place year round whether it be in a mobile home park or a piece of property that you or someone may own. A mobile home is constructed according to the Federal Manufactured Construction and Safety Standards and will be labeled as such.


There can be some advantages to owning a mobile home. Some of the advantages to owning a mobile home are the affordability that buying a mobile home can bring. Mobile home buying is an affordable option for most middle class Americans when it comes to purchasing a home. Another advantage of owning a mobile home is the property taxes are usually fairly low for a mobile home owner compared to a single family home. A third advantage to owning a mobile home is that the mobile home doesn’t take as long to build which is usually about half the time it takes to build a traditional single family home. Once the mobile home is completed, the mobile home is put on a truck and shipped to you in a few days. One final advantage to owning a mobile home is you can own the home in a shorter period of time. Most mobile home owners can pay off the loan faster therefore the mobile home owner can truly own the home in a much lesser time than a single family home.
